Turmeric (Size: 50g)

Turmeric (Curcuma longa) is a rhizomatous herbaceous perennial plant of the ginger family, Zingiberaceae. It's native to tropical South Asia and needs temperatures high temperatures and rainfall to thrive. Plants are gathered annually for their rhizomes, and propagated from some of those rhizomes in the following season. Turmeric will give bright yellows but has poor lightfastness. Its still used extensively to dye Sari fabric in India.
